Ways to Give
The Foundation gratefully accepts a variety of contributions from individuals, corporations, and organizations. Each type of gift plays a vital role in supporting our students and advancing our mission. Below are the primary types of gifts we receive:
- Unrestricted Gifts: Allow the Foundation to use the funds wherever they are most needed, providing flexibility to address urgent priorities and opportunities as they arise.
- Endowment Funds: The principal is invested, and only a portion of the investment income is used each year to support the Foundation’s mission, ensuring long-term sustainability.
- Legacy Gifts or Planned Gifts: Gifts arranged during a donor’s lifetime but given in the future, often through wills, trusts, retirement plans, or life insurance, creating a lasting legacy.
- Sponsorships: Contributions made by individuals, businesses, or organizations in support of specific events or initiatives, often accompanied by recognition and visibility.
- Scholarships: Funds designated to support students directly by reducing their educational expenses. These may be donor-directed (restricted) or general (unrestricted).
- In-Kind Gifts: Non-monetary contributions of goods or services, such as equipment, supplies, or professional expertise, that directly benefit the Foundation or its students.
All gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law, and subject to current tax accounting limitations. In accordance with Internal Revenue Service regulations, if a donor receives benefits in return for a gift, the amount of the gift recorded and reported is reduced by the fair market value of all benefits given.
